Netherlands lose their 2d final in a row-1978

Little late for this post to be on the spot, but 77 days to go.

I don't know if I've mentioned this, but we have bought team specific tickets to follow the Netherlands... so that's why I'm mentioning this...

but on top of that I am a Portuguese fan! just needed to clear that up...

There are a few teams who've never lifted the World Cup that stand a good chance this year and the Netherlands are twice finalists '74 and '78 both times walking away with the silver.

Could this year be the one for them?

80 Days to go...

a memorable 80... Fifa World Cup 1986 :

Argentina v England, played on 22 June 1986, was a football match between Argentina and England in the quarter-finals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

The game was held four years after the Falklands War (Spanish: Guerra de las Malvinas) between Argentina and the United Kingdom (of which England forms part) and was a key part in developing the intense football rivalry between the two mations. It was also a match which included two of the most famous goals in football history, both scored by Diego Maradona.

His first, after fifty-one minutes, was the Hand of God goal (Pictured Above), in which Maradona scored with an illegal, but unpenalised, handball. His second, after fifty-four minutes, saw him dribble past six England players, and in 2002 this was voted Goal of the Century by FIFA.com voters. Argentina won the game 2–1 and went on to win the 1986 World Cup with a victory over West Germany in the final. Maradona won the golden ball for player of the tournament.

Our Logo... 87 Days to go

Hey, we're all jacked up now, we have a logo to brand our trip... if you see it, wave. The inspiration is pretty simple to see, it's the bike and the visible section of SA is where we'll be travelling whether inland or along the coast.

88 Days to Go and our first breakfast run...

Woke up this morning to sunny skies, crisp cool air and a need to hit the road... Joined the BMW MCC for their Potch Breakfast run...

It was great we all met just outside of Johannesburg, headed through Vanderbijlpark and Parys and to a hearty breakfast in Potchefstroom.

Thank you to the club for a great experience... will definitely do it again.

We did our first 300km ride together today, what will be a regular occurrence on our future World Cup tour...

a taste of the Northern Cape and first bookings confirmed...

Well, it was our anniversary and Marta had planned a weekend away for us in the small town of Douglas, about 100km west of Kimberley in the Northern Cape... We'd never gone in this direction, but after this weekend, we'd decided that it would be a definite stop on our way back from Cape town on one of the legs of our tour.

We arrived at 5pm at the Villera guesthouse... to the most beautiful guesthouse we'd ever been to... it was perfect. Great food, great people and it was one of the best weekends ever...

so, speaking of where we're gonna stay, we've booked the first leg of our tour... Joburg to Durban, Durban to Cape Town...

Thanks to our friends who will be accommodating us in the major centres along the way, we couldn't have done it without you.

So, it's now 94 days to go!!!
